A fantastic opportunity has arisen, for someone looking to gain experience and develop a career within Human Resources. Working for an established business on the outskirts of Exeter, this is a chance for someone who is maybe studying Level 3 CIPD and wanting their first HR role, or maybe someone who has previous HR experience and wants to take their career to the next level. This role will be working closely with the HR Manager and running a variety of HR tasks, within a busy and fast-paced role. The role will include the recruitment for their workforce, across multiple locations, conducting both face-to-face and telephone interviews, as well as supporting other functions such as employee relations, training, performance monitoring, employee counselling, policy review and the continuous updating of employee contracts. Working closely with an experienced and passionate HR Manager, this provides a platform to learn and develop your HR knowledge, while working as part of a successful business with great people!
Tasks will include:
- Supporting the HR Manager with the recruitment for the business
- Running new-employee induction programmes
- Preparing contracts for new employees
- Creating and updating job descriptions
- Understanding, communicating and updating general company HR policies
- Management of employee data using the company's HR system
- Employee relations, including managing absences, disciplinaries, grievances etc.
- HR reports for the management
- Promote and encourage the company's health and safety practices
- Assist with training administration
- Respond and complete ad hoc requests from staff
- Administration of temporary workers
Skills and experience required:
- A genuine interest in HR
- Strong administration skills and experience
- Previous HR or recruitment experience would be advantageous
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to build rapport with line managers within the business
- Strong communication skills for employee relations and conducting interviews etc.
- An organised and systematic approach
