A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paralegal, ideally with litigation experience, to join one of the most reputable, modern and progressive law firms in Exeter. This opportunity will suit someone who has at least 6 months' experience within a similar role, also being an opportunity to take your career to the next level. The extensive levels of training and development that this firm offers will provide a great opportunity to learn new skills and develop your understanding within commercial litigation. The work will be supporting both public and private sector commercial clients, including arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. The level of work is high in quality, working across a wide spectrum of commercial litigation and dispute resolution.


Tasks will include:

  • Supporting the team with advising a mixed client base on a wide range of commercial disputes
  • Assisting the team to negotiate settlements with other parties
  • Drafting of court proceedings, witness statements and affidavits
  • Preparing trial bundles
  • Progressing cases that proceed to court, complying with court rules and regulations
  • Instructing counsel where necessary
  • Building effective client relationships
  • Taking part in company marketing initiatives, as well as attending team training courses
  • Working within Lexcel compliance guidelines


Skills and experience required:

  • Law Graduate (or CILEx)
  • Experience of working within litigation (ideally commercial, but this is not essential)
  • A proactive approach and someone who is a self-starter
  • Driven and enthusiastic approach
